چکیده

The problem of scattering of time-harmonic acoustic waves by an inhomogeneous fluid layer on a rigid plate in R is considered. The density is assumed to be unity in the media: within the layer the sound speed is assumed to be an arbitrary bounded measurable function. The problem is modelled by the reduced wave equation with variable wavenumber in the layer and a Neumann condition on the plate. To formulate the problem and prove uniqueness of solution a radiation condition appropriate for scattering by infinite rough surfaces is introduced, a generalization of the Rayleigh expansion condition for diffraction gratings. With the help of the radiation condition the problem is reformulated as a system of two second kind integral equations over the layer and the plate. Under additional assumptions on the wavenumber in the layer, uniqueness of solution is proved and the nonexistence of guided wave solutions of the homogeneous problem established. General results on the solvability of systems of integral equations on unbounded domains are used to establish existence and continuous dependence in a weighted norm of the solution on the given data.

Inhomogeneous plane-wave scattering and mode stimulation on periodic rough surfaces

Medium vibration properties to characterize interface layers and quality of bonding can be examined by an ordinary approach using homogeneous waves or by a more general inhomogeneous ~or complex harmonic! wave scattering technique. It is known that only particular inhomogeneous plane waves can stimulate eigenvibrations of a given structure, and not the homogeneous wave. The reflection and trans...

Modelling of the acoustic radiation of a structure covered by a porous layer

To predict noise in enclosure containing treated vibrating panels, porous layer effect has to be taken into account. This study propose an analytical model of the effects of a porous layer on a vibrating plate by separating the acoustical and vibratory behaviours. This paper deals with acoustic coupling by means of surface impedance derived by a one-dimensional model using ”Biot-Allard” theory....

In this paper we propose an accurate and fast numerical method to obtain scattering fields from lossy dispersive inhomogeneous planar layers for both TE and TM polarizations. A new method is introduced to analyze lossy Inhomogeneous Planar Layers. In this method by applying spline based Galerkin’s method of moment to scalar wave equation and imposing boundary conditions we obtain reflection and...

The present paper deals with the inverse scattering problem involving macroscopically inhomogeneous rigid frame porous media. It consists of the recovery, from acoustic measurements, of the profiles of spatially varying material parameters by means of an optimization approach. The resolution is based on the modeling of acoustic wave propagation in macroscopically inhomogeneous rigid frame porou...

Propagation of acoustic waves in a one-dimensional macroscopically inhomogeneous poroelastic material.

Wave propagation in macroscopically inhomogeneous porous materials has received much attention in recent years. The wave equation, derived from the alternative formulation of Biot's theory of 1962, was reduced and solved recently in the case of rigid frame inhomogeneous porous materials. This paper focuses on the solution of the full wave equation in which the acoustic and the elastic propertie...
